The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) is a left-wing Nigerian party founded on 27 September 1978 by Marxist intellectuals and supporters of Mallam Aminu Kano, rooted in his radical/talakawa (commoner) socialist tradition. It is one of the longest-surviving party brands in Nigeria's history.
