How We Order Parties
Election party pickers group major contenders first, then show every other party A-Z. A party is major when its race score reaches 5%, when it is already major nationally, or when editors pin it for a specific election because fresh political movement is not visible in historical data yet.
The score blends active elected strength and executive ticket history. Governors count 10 points, senators 3, representatives 1.5, state assembly members 0.5 and local government chairmen 0.5. Pins lift a party into the major group; they do not place it above stronger parties.
