03 / NO FINANCE DEGREE NEEDED
The Federation Account Allocation Committee. It brings the three tiers of government together to share public revenue each month.
From sources such as oil, taxes and customs duties.
Distributable revenue is allocated under the applicable rules.
Federal, state and local governments receive allocations.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
A larger allocation alone does not mean a government is doing a better job.
Different revenue streams have different rules. VAT and statutory revenue are not shared the same way.
Eligible producing states receive a 13% derivation allocation, included in their state figures.
Debt payments and other deductions can reduce the amount left for a state.
Gross is the allocation before deductions. Deductions are amounts taken out. Net is what remains. State figures use total gross and total net across all components. The LGA source does not provide an equivalent complete gross figure.
No. Internally generated revenue (IGR), loans, grants and other receipts are separate. FAAC is neither a government’s full budget nor its spending.
The chart covers the full selected calendar year. A gap means there is no record available for that place and month, including months not yet added. The line stops at missing records instead of joining across them, and missing records are never treated as zero.
State records identify categories such as external debt, ISPO, other deductions, VAT deductions and ecology transfers. They do not record detailed reasons, lenders or individual payment orders. LGA deduction fields provide less detail.
