The PDP unveiled him in Yola on 30 July 2026. INEC lists him as a 63-year-old man whose declared qualifications are a Grade II certificate, NCE and BA Ed. A former Grade III teacher, he represented Mubi North/Mubi South/Maiha in the House of Representatives in the 7th Assembly (2011-2015), elected, according to Daily Trust, on the Congress for Progressive Change; the same column says he also sat in the 6th Assembly on the PDP, which could not be confirmed. The PDP's profile says he holds an NCE from the College of Education, Hong, and a BA in Education and History from Bayero University Kano, and worked as a teacher, court administrator, purchasing manager, personnel officer at the Nigerian Postal Service and Assistant Superintendent in the Nigeria Immigration Service. He left the APC and was received into the PDP by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on 12 September 2020. No court case or investigation naming him was found.
