Maurice Michael Vunobolki (INEC: VUNOBOLKI MAURICE MICHAEL; styled Chief Dr Maurice Vunobolki) is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Adamawa State for the election of 6 February 2027 (INEC final list, 10 October 2026), with Abubakar Mahmud Wambai as his running mate. INEC lists him as a 54-year-old man whose declared qualifications include a B.Sc, MBA, M.Sc, PhD and FCA. A chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, he is a retired banker and one-time lecturer (Daily Post, 2013) who held senior management posts at the now defunct Oceanic Bank International PLC, including Zonal Head for the North Central Zone, and later coordinated the Federal Government/World Bank North-East Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project in Adamawa; he describes his career as development consulting. In 2013 Daily Post described him as a former gubernatorial candidate of the National Transformation Party who withdrew to back Markus Gundiri of the Action Congress of Nigeria and chaired Gundiri's campaign organisation against Governor Murtala Nyako. In 2026 he left the PDP for the APC (23 February), declared for the APC governorship ticket (7 April), resigned from the APC on 14 April citing a lack of internal democracy and fairness, and announced his return to the PDP on 23 April. PDP delegates in Yola affirmed him as the sole aspirant on 24 May 2026; his name was uploaded to INEC's portal as the recognised PDP candidate in late July, and the PDP unveiled Wambai as his running mate on 30 July. In September 2026 the organisation MIPAD announced a Trailblazer Award for him in New York. No court case or investigation naming him was found.
