Umar Abubakar is the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) deputy governorship candidate in Adamawa State, running mate to Bundi Ahmadu Pius, for the election of 6 February 2027 (INEC final list, 10 October 2026). INEC lists him as a 47-year-old man whose declared qualifications are the First School Leaving Certificate, the Senior School Certificate and a BSc. When he was chosen as running mate, his schooling and any earlier career or public office were not found in public sources as of October 2026; the BLERF entries with the same name describe other men.
