Kabiru Rabiu, listed by INEC surname-first as "Rabiu Kabiru" and styled "Ambassador Kabiru Rabiu" in press reports, is the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) vice-presidential candidate, as running mate to Donald Duke, for the presidential election of 16 January 2027. INEC's final list of candidates (12 September 2026) gives his age as 80, the oldest vice-presidential candidate on the list, and his declared qualifications as the First School Leaving Certificate, a Grade II certificate and a Bachelor of Arts degree; the schools and years were not found. He is a substitute nominee. When INEC displayed the candidates' particulars on 1 August 2026, the PRP running mate was Buba Musa; the party replaced him with Kabiru Rabiu before the substitution window closed on 22 August 2026. The earliest dated report of him in the role is the G100 opposition summit in Abuja on 31 August 2026, where he was part of the PRP delegation led by national chairman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed. His state of origin and his career before 2026, including the post behind the title "Ambassador", are not yet established on the public record.

INEC final list of candidates (Presidential), published 2026-09-12 — SN 15; INEC name: RABIU KABIRU; age 80; male; qualification (as declared to INEC): FLSC GRADE II B.A Running mate to Donald Duke on the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) ticket, as a substitute nominee. When INEC displayed the candidates' particulars (Form EC9) on 1 August 2026, the PRP running mate was Buba Musa (The Punch, TG News, 2 August 2026). The PRP replaced him with Kabiru Rabiu before the substitution window for presidential and National Assembly candidates closed on Saturday 22 August 2026; the day of the substitution was not published, and no party statement announcing it was found. The Nation and Ripples Nigeria (13 September 2026) reported that the PRP "replaced Baba Musa with Rabiu Kabiru as running mate". The Nigerian Tribune (31 August and 1 September 2026) named "Ambassador Kabiru Rabiu" as the PRP vice-presidential candidate at the G100 opposition summit in Abuja on 31 August 2026, the earliest dated report of him in the role. INEC's final list of 12 September 2026 confirms the ticket (SN 15); at 80 he is the oldest vice-presidential candidate on it. "FLSC" on the list is a transposition of FSLC. Poll day is 16 January 2027. A running mate is nominated, not elected at a primary.
