Isah Hamma Misau (listed by INEC as Misau Isah Hamma) is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Bauchi Central Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026; age 52; FSLC, SSCE and BSc declared). The son of a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, he served in the Nigeria Police Force, including as aide-de-camp to FCT ministers, and retired as a Deputy Superintendent of Police; the Police Service Commission dates his retirement from 1 December 2010.
Elected on the APC, he represented Bauchi Central in the 8th Senate (2015-2019) and chaired the Senate Committee on Navy. From 25 August 2017 he accused Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris of collecting about N10bn a month for police guards without remitting it, selling postings and promotions, ethnic favouritism and affairs with policewomen. The police called the claims false and him a deserter with a forged retirement letter; the Police Service Commission found the letter genuine (6 September 2017). The Senate set up an ad hoc committee on 4 October 2017; the IGP appeared on 8 November 2017 but declined to answer, citing pending cases, and the committee never reported. The Attorney-General filed two criminal cases against him on 10 October 2017 - injurious falsehood (FCT High Court) and false age documents allegedly submitted to INEC (Federal High Court) - and the IGP sued him for N5bn for defamation. He pleaded not guilty, said he was being persecuted for telling the truth, and no conviction or judgment in any of the three cases has been reported; the last reported hearings were in 2018.
His defection from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was announced in the Senate on 24 July 2018. Unopposed in the PDP primary, he came third in the Bauchi Central election of 23 February 2019 with 57,069 votes; Halliru Jika (APC) won. In July 2019 Governor Bala Mohammed named him chairman of a committee to recover government property and funds. In August 2019 the ICPC said six tractors from his 2015 constituency project had not reached farmers and seized them; no charge followed. He rejoined the APC on 18 September 2020, lost its May 2022 primary to Uba Ahmed Nana (75 votes to 238), and ran in February 2023 for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), polling 17,995 votes as Abdul Ningi (PDP) won. Back in the APC, he is its 2027 candidate; details of the 2026 APC primary were not found.
