He also stood for the same seat on the NRM ticket in the 25 February 2023 election, polling 587 votes (reported by Voice of Nigeria as "Kenry Ibekwe"); Labour Party candidate Darlington Nwokocha was declared the winner. Details of his 2026 NRM primary and his career were not found in public sources as of October 2026.
