Dozie Ferdinand Nwankwo, born on 28 August 1975 according to his National Assembly profile, is the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026). He is from Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka LGA, and holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of Port Harcourt. He founded the Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Foundation in 2007 and describes Fedox Company as the business he built; Governor Soludo commissioned his Centre for Development and ICT in Enugwu-Ukwu in December 2022. His sister Judith Amaechi is a former First Lady of Rivers State; her husband is former governor Rotimi Amaechi. He first ran for the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia House seat in 2011 on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform. On his petition the Awka tribunal (25 October 2011) and the Court of Appeal, Enugu ordered a rerun against APGA's Uche Ekwunife, which she won on 15 February 2012 (29,005 votes to his 21,948). Running on the APGA platform in 2015, he again trailed on INEC's return (PDP's Okey Eze), but the tribunal (9 October 2015) and the Court of Appeal, Enugu (7 December 2015) declared him the winner. After the 2019 election INEC returned Valentine Ayika of the PDP; the Court of Appeal, Enugu set that aside on 1 November 2019, and he was sworn in on 21 November 2019, serving until the 9th Assembly ended in June 2023. A Premium Times/UDEME project-tracking report (April 2020) found, in January 2020, the site of a solar borehole he had nominated at Adazi Ani locked and overgrown and a second one, at Aguluzigbo, not yet started; a June 2021 profile of his record listed both among his constituency projects, the Aguluzigbo one as ongoing. On 28 May 2022 he defeated former APGA national chairman Victor Umeh (162 votes to 151) for the APGA ticket in Anambra Central, then lost the Senate election of 25 February 2023 to Umeh, who had moved to the Labour Party (Umeh 103,608; Nwankwo 69,702). His petition against Umeh's return (EPT/AN/SEN/05/2023) was dismissed by the Awka tribunal on 8 September 2023; no appeal was found. He won APGA's primary held on 23 May 2026 against Jerry Ugokwe, and in July 2026 received a HallowMace Foundation legislative award and a community role-model award from the Anambra State Town Union Council youth wing.
