Umeadi Chinedu Anthony (Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi) is the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026). INEC lists him as a 51-year-old man whose declared qualifications are the First School Leaving Certificate, the Senior School Certificate, MBBS, MPH and PhD. This is his second YPP bid for the seat. He won the party's Anambra Central ticket by delegate affirmation at a primary in Awka on 29 May 2022, and at the election of 25 February 2023 he polled 6,909 votes; Victor Umeh of the Labour Party won with 103,608. In February 2025 Nigerian Tribune described him as the YPP leader in Anambra State. Details of his 2026 YPP primary were not found. He founded and heads the Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation, which runs an annual science quiz and awards for Anambra secondary schools and has organised youth programmes since at least 2019; its seventh award ceremony was held in Awka on 24 June 2026. Punch described him in 2022 as a professor of mental health. UNIZIK's Continuous Education Programme gave him a humanitarian service award in August 2023.
