Tahir Muhammad Inuwa (press: Muhammad Inuwa Tahir; INEC age 66) is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate in Jigawa State, running mate to Mustapha Sule Lamido, for the election of 6 February 2027 (INEC final list, 10 October 2026). INEC lists his declared qualifications as the primary leaving certificate, SSCE and a university degree, without naming the institution. A career civil servant from Hadejia Local Government Area, he was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and later Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, in the Office of the Head of Service. Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar approved his appointment as Head of Service on or about 20 October 2015 (Daily Trust) and he retired from the post in 2018 (Leadership). He is a member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, served on the governing board of the Jigawa State Manpower Development Institute and was named to the governing council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, on 27 May 2025. The Jigawa PDP chairman, Babandi Ibrahim, announced him as running mate on 15 June 2026 after consultations among party stakeholders, and he is deputy chairman of the party's campaign council (11 September 2026).
