Shehu Hussaini, known in Zamfara politics as Hon. Shehu Hussaini Waziri Kucheri and popularly as "Wazirin Kucheri", is the Action Alliance (AA) vice-presidential candidate, as running mate to Rufai Adekunle Omoaje, for the presidential election of 16 January 2027. The AA chairmen of the 19 northern states nominated him and the party unveiled him on 16 July 2026. INEC's final list of candidates (12 September 2026) gives his age as 56 and his declared qualifications as the First School Leaving Certificate, Government Secondary School, Yabo, and the Federal College of Education, Zaria. He has contested for governor of Zamfara State twice: in 2015 for the Independent Democrats, when Abdulaziz Yari was re-elected, and in 2019 for the Hope Democratic Party (HDP), when he received 36 votes and Bello Matawalle was declared elected after the Supreme Court voided the APC's votes. He chaired the HDP in Zamfara in 2019; INEC deregistered the party in February 2020. He is the Action Alliance chairman in Zamfara State. INEC recognised his executive in October 2025 after a leadership dispute of more than a year, a consensus congress returned him as chairman in March 2026, and he is also secretary general of the forum of the party's state chairmen. The party made him its consensus candidate for the 2027 Zamfara governorship on 28 May 2026; after he became the vice-presidential candidate, Muhammad Tambari S. Kaya replaced him on the governorship ticket on 15 September 2026. His date and place of birth and any career outside party politics are not on the public record.
