Peter Fwa is the Labour Party (LP) candidate for Adamawa South Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026). INEC lists him as a 59-year-old man whose declared qualifications are the First School Leaving Certificate, the Senior School Certificate and a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (B.URP). He hails from Demsa Local Government Area. By his own account a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for about ten years, he first sought the APC's Adamawa South ticket. At the APC primary of 18 May 2026, won by Felix Tangwami with 103,762 votes, Daily Post credited a "Peter Leonard Fwa" with 9,537 votes; Fwa says he had resigned from the APC over "injustice and a lack of internal democracy", and Punch later reported that he had been the party's unopposed aspirant before the ticket went to Tangwami, a governorship aspirant. The Adamawa APC rejected his claims. He was declared the LP's Adamawa South candidate at the party's primary in Yola on 30 May 2026; no vote figures were reported.

constituency: Adamawa South Senatorial District · INEC final list of candidates (Senate), published 2026-09-12 — SN 17, p.6; INEC name: PETER FWA; age 59; male; qualification (as declared to INEC): FSLC SSCE B.URP · Primary: declared Labour Party candidate for Adamawa South at the LP primary/affirmation exercise in Yola, Saturday 30 May 2026 (Tribune, Punch; Peoples Gazette says Sunday 31 May), committee chairman Mazi Excel Ochiama; no vote figures or opponents reported. Earlier he sought the APC ticket: Daily Post's tally of the APC Adamawa South primary of Monday 18 May 2026 credits 'Peter Leonard Fwa' with 9,537 votes (winner Felix Tangwami, 103,762). Fwa says he had resigned from the APC over a lack of internal democracy (Punch, 1 Jun 2026); Punch (14 Sep 2026) reports he had been the APC's unopposed aspirant before the ticket went to Tangwami, a governorship aspirant; Fwa said governorship aspirants were moved into the Senate race (Punch, 1 Jun 2026), which explains the nine-contestant result. The Adamawa APC denies any irregularity.

How sources and review work

A reviewed source may establish that an allegation was made; it does not establish guilt. Open each record’s sources to read its evidence. Historical reporting may not establish a case’s current status.
