Nwosu Ikechukwu Samben, known publicly as Prince Samben Nwosu, is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026). INEC lists him as a 53-year-old man whose declared qualifications are the First School Leaving Certificate, the Senior School Certificate and a Higher National Diploma in Accounting. He is from Otolo, Nnewi, and works as a business development service provider licensed by SMEDAN.
A PDP member since 1998 by his own account, he was the party's organising secretary in Anambra State: he spoke in that role in June 2016 at the inauguration of the Nnewi North PDP executive, and was described in October 2021 as a former state organising and publicity secretary (a 2026 report calling him a former national organising secretary is not supported by earlier coverage). He was the Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, the federal ombudsman, for Anambra State, in office by September 2018 and leaving after a three-year tenure; his successor was sworn in on 5 July 2021. In July 2020, while he held that post, a group of Nnewi North PDP members named him among eight party chieftains in a complaint of criminal conspiracy and defamation before a Nnewi magistrate's court; he had not been served when the matter was adjourned, and no outcome was found. At the PDP national convention of October 2021 he was one of three Anambra aspirants for National Auditor and withdrew on 30 October 2021 in favour of Obiechina Okechukwu Daniel.
After the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah he declared on 20 December 2024 for the PDP ticket in the Anambra South by-election. He then resigned from the PDP by a letter dated 6 January 2025, saying a suspension letter against him had been signed by "an unknown organ of the party" without due process. His Otolo Ward 1 PDP announced his expulsion by a letter dated 17 January 2025, alleging fraud and anti-party activities that it said he had not answered before its disciplinary committee; these were party allegations, not court charges. In February 2025 he was a Young Progressives Party (YPP) aspirant for the by-election, but the YPP ticket went to Oforbuike Okoli-Egbo, who was the party's candidate in the poll of 16 August 2025 won by APGA's Emmanuel Nwachukwu; two November 2025 reports on his SMEDAN award (best-performing Business Development Service Provider in Nigeria for 2025) nonetheless called him the YPP candidate.
By September 2026 he was again in the PDP as its Anambra South senate candidate; the date of his return and the details of the 2026 primary were not found. The party flagged off his campaign with a roadshow from Nnewi on 3 October 2026.

How sources and review work
A reviewed source may establish that an allegation was made; it does not establish guilt. Open each record’s sources to read its evidence. Historical reporting may not establish a case’s current status.
Suggestions from the community, awaiting review. These are not verified profile facts. Votes help reviewers assess suggestions; they do not establish whether a claim is true.
