Kori Lawan Mohammed, reported in the press as Lawan Mahammed Kori, is the African Democratic Congress (ADC) deputy governorship candidate in Yobe State, running mate to Kassim Gaidam, for the election of 6 February 2027 (INEC final list, 10 October 2026). INEC lists him as a 62-year-old man whose declared qualifications are the primary school leaving certificate, WAEC and a computer certificate. He is a former member of the House of Representatives for Nangere/Potiskum federal constituency (2007 to 2011), where, in his own words, the PDP gave him its mandate. He later moved to the APC and, in an interview reported on 31 July 2022, said he was returning to the PDP, saying Atiku Abubakar would win the 2023 presidency. The ADC announced him as Gaidam's running mate on 21 July 2026, after a five-member party committee, consulting leaders from the three senatorial districts, recommended him for his loyalty and grassroots support. His career outside the House, his schools and the date he joined the ADC were not found.
