INEC lists him as a 42-year-old man whose declared qualification is the WAEC secondary school certificate. Punch (30 September 2026) describes him as an industrialist and educationist who pledged to unseat the incumbent, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC), and the Labour Party and NDC candidates, and is backed by APGA's Abia State chairman, Sunday Onukwubiri. A Chief Irukwu Onwuka, chairman/CEO of Citiedge Group and founder/proprietor of the proposed Citiedge University, Abuja, and a one-time PDP chairman of Ward 1, Aba North, formally joined the APC in Umuahia on 18 December 2024 (Leadership); he is very probably the same man, though no source states both facts together. Details of his 2026 APGA primary and of when he moved to APGA were not found in public sources as of October 2026.
