INEC lists him as a 51-year-old man with LLB and BL qualifications; he is a lawyer and says he was born on 8 June 1975 (ThisDay interview, 7 June 2025). He was Director-General of the Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau under Governor Ben Ayade (he dates his appointment to 2015; the title is confirmed in June 2018 and October 2021, and a successor was announced on 7 July 2022). He left the PDP for the APC with Ayade's group in 2021 and was elected APC state chairman by a voice vote of delegates on 16 October 2021. In April 2025 he was reported appointed chairman of the governing council of the Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria, Benin City. On 4 December 2025 30 of the 32 members of the APC state executive voted to remove him over alleged financial misconduct, high-handedness and unpaid stipends, which he rejected as 'a joke taken too far'. An Abuja High Court granted him interim orders on 18 December 2025, the APC announced his expulsion on 22 December for going to court, and he withdrew the suit, reported on 19 January 2026. He says he asked to be delisted from the APC on 7 May 2026 and announced his return to the PDP on 14 May 2026; he was reported as the PDP's deputy governorship contender by 26 May 2026. He says he sought the party nomination for the Yala I State Assembly seat in 2011 and 2015 (no results found).

How sources and review work

A reviewed source may establish that an allegation was made; it does not establish guilt. Open each record’s sources to read its evidence. Historical reporting may not establish a case’s current status.
