Bob Ogu (also reported as Bob Chidozie or Chiedozie Ogu) is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026). INEC lists him as a 64-year-old man who declared a first school leaving certificate, the West African School Certificate, a law degree (LLB) and call to the Nigerian Bar (BL). He is an Abia-based lawyer and has been described in court reports as managing director of Earth Conscience Limited. Ogu served as Abia State Commissioner for Works under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu: he was named to the portfolio when Ikpeazu swore in 23 commissioners in October 2019 and spoke for the ministry on roads, the Aba flyover and drainage until at least September 2022. By 4 February 2023 he was described as a former commissioner; that day, at the PDP's special governorship primary held after the death of its candidate Uche Ikonne, he stepped down for Okey Ahiwe, who won the ticket. Cosmos Ndukwe was sworn in as Works commissioner in February 2023. In December 2024 the Abia PDP, led by state chairman Abraham Amah, named him shadow Attorney-General in its opposition shadow government. He won the PDP's Abia Central senatorial primary with 18,901 votes (results announced in Umuahia, reported 20 May 2026). The Abia PDP was split between the Amah-led executive that ran that primary and a caretaker committee aligned with the Kabiru Turaki interim national leadership; the Amah slate is the one on INEC's final list, and the rival structure's June 2026 certificates of return named no Abia Central senate candidate. Since 2023 he has been a defendant, with others, in an FCT High Court case (FCT/HC/CR/302/2023) alleging forgery of title documents to a property of Nexume Nigeria Ltd in Abuja, first charged by the FCT police and later prosecuted under the Attorney-General of the Federation's fiat on an amended 14-count charge. He pleaded not guilty, is on bail, represents himself, challenged the charge and the court's jurisdiction, and has called the accusation false and vexatious; the trial was ongoing as of May 2026 and no verdict has been reported.
