Sunday Oluwafemi Adenuga, known as Sonny, is the national chairman of the Boot Party (BOOT, "Because Of Our Tomorrow") and its presidential candidate for the election of 16 January 2027, with Mustapha Usman Turaki as running mate. INEC lists him surname-first as "Adenuga Sunday", aged 52 in September 2026. He works in information-technology governance, risk and security. He holds a master's degree in project management from Northumbria University and the CISA, CRISC and PMP professional certifications; his campaign also cites study in mathematics and statistics. Over more than twenty years he has worked in the United Kingdom, Europe and Africa, including IT security and control at Ford Motor Company and IT risk and data protection at Opel Vauxhall Finance, and has consulted on World Bank and African Development Bank projects in Nigeria. He lived in Lagos until 2007. He has held no public office. He is one of the founders of the BOOT Party, which its founders began organising in 2016 and INEC registered in 2019 after a court case, and he has led it as national chairman since at least January 2020. He was its presidential candidate in 2023, when the ticket polled 16,156 votes. He was returned unopposed at the party's e-voting primary on 29 May 2026 and is on INEC's final list of candidates published on 12 September 2026. In April 2025 he and the party sued President Tinubu at the Federal High Court, Yenagoa, over the Rivers State emergency rule; no ruling has been reported.
