Before the ballot,
a life in the making.

The places, education and experiences behind this candidate.

Okey Okoro Udo is the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for Abia North Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026), which lists him as a 54-year-old man. He comes from Amaekpu in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State. A pastor, he has worked as managing director of Vog Global Consult and M'lord Udo Consult Limited. He declared to INEC that he attended Ofali Agwu Primary School, Army Day Secondary School and the University of Calabar (B.Sc); the ADP's 2022 announcement adds a master's from the University of Liverpool and a PhD from Walden University, USA. He first ran for office as the ADP's candidate for Governor of Abia State. Reported as the party's candidate from October 2018, he campaigned on spreading development across the state's three senatorial zones. In the election of 9 March 2019 INEC credited him with 522 votes; the PDP governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, was re-elected with 261,127. By April 2022 he was the ADP's National Treasurer (Punch also called him the party's leader in Abia State); that month, opening the party's new secretariat in Umuahia, he spoke of an alliance with 16 other parties. On 23 June 2022 the party's national chairman and presidential candidate, Yabagi Yusuf Sani, named him as his running mate, and INEC's final list of September 2022 shows him as the ADP vice-presidential candidate, aged 50. The ticket campaigned in Umuahia in February 2023 and polled 43,924 votes on 25 February 2023, when the APC's Bola Tinubu won. Since then he has given interviews as the party's 2023 vice-presidential candidate on hunger, insecurity, local-government autonomy and state policing (The Sun, July 2024 and June 2026). Details of his 2026 ADP Senate primary (date, votes, opponents) were not found in public sources as of October 2026.
