The places, education and experiences behind this candidate.

Fidelis Agbiki, styled High Chief, is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the Senate election of 16 January 2027 (INEC final list, 12 September 2026, which lists him as a 75-year-old man). He is from Isampou Ward 1 in Ekeremor Local Government Area and from Tarakiri Kingdom; Leadership (19 May 2026) describes him as a first-time senatorial contestant. According to a 2026 profile in The Sun, he trained as a lawyer, made his name as a broadcast journalist at the Nigerian Television Authority, served as chief press secretary to five military governors and administrators of the old Rivers State and to its second civilian governor, Chief Rufus Ada George, and later joined Shell Petroleum Development Company, rising to directorate level. In 2023 he was regent of Tarakiri Kingdom after the death of Pere Richardford Orukarebai Koroye, and oversaw the selection and coronation of the new Pere, Dr Seiyifa Koroye, in September 2023. By February 2026 he was an Ekeremor member of the Bayelsa APC's ward-congress committee. He won the APC's direct primary for Bayelsa West with 71,135 votes against four other aspirants (result declared at Sagbama on 18 May 2026) and received the party's certificate of nomination from Governor Douye Diri on 30 June 2026. His opponents in Bayelsa West include former governor and sitting senator Seriake Dickson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
