Obasi Uba Ekeagbara is the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Abia State for the election of 6 February 2027 (INEC final list, 10 October 2026), with Atuzie Loveday as his running mate. INEC lists him as a 55-year-old man whose declared qualifications are the First School Leaving Certificate, a WAEC certificate, a technical certificate and the Senior School Certificate (SSCE). Vanguard's 2 September 2026 report of INEC's display of candidates' particulars spelled the name 'Uba Ekegbara Obasi'. Details of the 2026 SDP primary, his career and any earlier public office were not found in public sources as of October 2026.
