An academic who is the INEC-recognised National Chairman of the SDP, re-elected unopposed at the party's May 2026 national convention in Bauchi. His leadership was contested by the Shehu Gabam faction but affirmed by the Supreme Court in May 2026, with INEC updating its records in his favour on 17 June 2026.
