Recorded outcome
Per Sahara Reporters (2011), the JTF found that 15 governors, including Tinubu, had breached constitutional asset-declaration rules. In Tinubu's case the finding concerned the operation of foreign accounts in his name and that of Compass Finance and Investment Ltd. The Federal Government filed a Code of Conduct Tribunal charge in April 2007. It was revived in 2011 and dismissed on 30 November 2011 (see 'cct-foreign-accounts-2007-2011'). Tinubu's counsel argued in 2011 that the other indicted governors were invited to explain themselves and not prosecuted, while he alone was charged. Tinubu called the case politically motivated.
